Is Notes Calculator really free?
Yes. The free plan is free forever — no trial, no credit card — and includes unlimited calculations, variables, units, and 200+ currencies. The free plan is limited to one tab; Lifetime unlocks unlimited tabs, cross-device sync, and priority support.
What is a tab?
A tab is one independent note (or "buffer") inside Notes Calculator — its own scratchpad with its own variables and headings. The free plan gives you one tab. Lifetime lets you create as many as you want, so you can keep separate tabs for budgets, invoices, trips, and quick math.
Is the Lifetime plan a subscription?
No. Lifetime is a one-time payment. You own it. There are no monthly fees, no auto-renewals, and no surprise charges.
What happens to my notes if I downgrade?
Your existing tabs stay accessible. The free plan only allows editing in one tab at a time, but you will not lose any data. You can re-enable Lifetime at any time and pick up where you left off.
Do you offer refunds?
Lifetime purchases are non-refundable, which is why we recommend trying the free plan first — it includes the full feature set on one tab so you can decide before paying. If you run into any issue with your purchase, email us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help.
Do you offer discounts for students or non-profits?
Yes. Send us an email at [email protected] from your .edu / .org / verifiable institution address and we'll send a discount code. We try to make Notes Calculator accessible to everyone who needs it.
Will my Lifetime price increase?
No. Once you buy Lifetime, you've locked in your price for life — including all future updates and platforms (iOS and Android are on the way).
Which platforms are included?
Both plans include macOS, Windows, Linux, and the Web app. iOS and Android apps will be added at no extra cost when they launch.
How is payment processed?
Payments are handled by Paddle, our secure payment provider. We never see your card details, and Paddle handles VAT / sales tax automatically based on your location.
